Chocolate Mousse with Espresso Balsamic Drizzle
Perfect for dinner parties, Valentine’s Day, or any night you want to feel a little indulgent, this mousse delivers bold flavor with minimal effort. No cream. No fluff. Just deeply satisfying, chocolate-forward elegance with a Bodacious twist.
½ cup dark chocolate chips or chopped bar chocolate 1 tbsp Bodacious Regional Pure EVOO (Mild) 2 eggs, separated 2 tbsp sugar Pinch of salt ¼ tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp Bodacious Italian Espresso Dark Balsamic , for finishingOptional: whipped cream, shaved chocolate, or sea salt for garnish
Melt the chocolate gently using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts. Stir in the Mild EVOO until smooth and glossy. Let cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with sugar, salt, and vanilla until pale and creamy. Stir into the chocolate mixture.
In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into the chocolate base, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
Spoon mousse into serving glasses or ramekins. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
Just before serving, drizzle with Espresso Balsamic and top with a pinch of flaky sea salt, whipped cream, or shaved chocolate if desired.
